The tragedy of the MSM

Beldar nails another slam dunk with a thorough evisceration of ABC's "news" "reporting" on Nightline. He shreds their witnesses, their methodology, and their credibility.

The tragedy, though, is that they'll get away with it.

Why shouldn't they? After all, CBS got away with a similar although perhaps slightly less egregious violation. Despite all the triumphant whooping and hollering around the bonfire in pajamas, CBS got away with it. Their "commission" of two will report after the election... after all, it's okay for the fake story to influence the election but not the true correction, right? My guess is that the report will be inconclusive. It'll say that the documents could be genuine, but couldn't be properly authenticated. CBS will issue another apology, saying they shouldn't've run with the story, but will ignore the fact that their "unimpeachable source" was a psychotic hack and their documents were obvious forgeries. By then, the election will be all over and the outrage will have died down. Gunga Dan continues to rule from his left-leaning throne.

And ABC will get away with it too, probably with considerably less fuss than CBS went through.

Beldar writes:

It makes me nauseous to think that an American presidential election might be influenced by such ham-handed hackery.

Me too, Counselor. Me too.
